Description
Ensure drivers weekly record sheets are completed correctly and submitted, complying with rules and regulations. Identify non-conformance to Line Manager as appropriate
Monitor drivers hours and report to Line Manager
Ensure the Company's transport and vehicle servicing requirements adhere to both company policy and legislation, including tachographs, locks and alarms and vehicle defects
Maintain accurate records of vehicle defects, safety inspections, routine maintenance and repairs
Ensure that the O' Licence holder is aware of any convictions / breaches against any relevant parties for reporting to the Traffic Commissioner
Manage maintenance of the branch fleet, liaising with internal and external customer and suppliers
Ensure all security defects reported are actioned and any failed vehicle is kept off road until rectified
Ensure all documentation is compliant and accurate, liaising with internal audit team as required
Complete driver assessments
Ensure O' Licences are displayed as appropriate
Costing reports on all vehicles, taking into account change of machinery & hours. To control costs, and changes managed in agreed timeframes
Arrange road side recoveries in accordance with company procedures
Regular fleet reviews to ensure fleet are suitable to the operational needs, and managing the change as to reduce any upheaval to service
Agreeing standards of performance and KPI's with Depot Manager to highlight plans, and challenge any shortfalls
Carry out investigation meetings with drivers and provide a recommend outcome to Branch Manager on matters such as Tachograph Infringements, Vehicle Accidents and Moving Traffic Violations
Ensure all branch transport processes and procedures are effectively managed
Effectively monitor & control stocks of consumables to ensure transport operations are not disrupted
Responsible for maintaining and complying with company Health and Safety standards thereby minimising the risk to yourself and any other perso
Profile
Candidates should be experienced within a busy transport operation and it is essential that candidate hold Management CPC. Candidates will be knowledgeable of all relevant transport legislation applicable to the business and ensure compliance of the fleet. Candidates will need to be able to communicate internally and externally to people at varying levels. Candidates must also demonstrate a thorough understanding on health and safety and its importance to the operation.
