Transport Manager

My client are leaders within their industry and have experience growth.

They are looking for a Transport Manager to lead, motivate and manage the transport team in Wolverhampton.


The Transport Manager will be responsible for the following:

  • Oversee all license checks, tachograph infringements and vehicle downloads
  • Deliver new driver inductions
  • Responsible for Driver and Driver Assistant training, Driver CPC, vocational ADR and FLT maintenance of training records
  • Ensure all Driver compliance with processes and company policies
  • Prepare and undertake incident investigations
  • Responsible for monitoring and administering Driver and Driver Assistant holiday system
  • Responsible for monitoring and administering sickness and absence procedures and compile relevant reports
  • Maximise the availability of vehicles and drivers by scheduling maintenance, repairs, holidays and training
  • Supply day to day office supervision
  • Assist the Logistics Manager with an overview process of arranging and monitoring vehicle and FLT servicing, defect reports and rectification
  • Arrange and monitor annual testing for all Company vehicles
  • Assist the Logistics Manager with undertaking vehicle and driver operational ADR and compliance checks
  • Ensure along with the Logistics Manager that all vehicle spot checks are completed and the processes of such is enforced
  • Ensure accidents are investigated and correct paperwork is completed and submitted within an appropriate time frame
  • Assist the Logistics Manager with budgeting for the department
  • Working in conjunction with the Logistics Manager create and update departmental processes, along with systems of work and Driver handbook
  • Assist to support the Logistics manager in on-going driver development


The successful Transport Manager candidate will have the following experience:

  • CPC qualified
  • Proven experience of running and managign a transport operation
  • Driving Change Management and introducing improvements in Logistics operations
  • Adaptable and flexible approach
  • Ability to meet deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to details
  • Team player and confident communicator, ability to lead conversation with senior team members and all internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage own time and responsibilities, with initiative and common sense
  • Highly organised coupled with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Enthusiastic, a 'hands on approach' and a desire to succeed

£40,000 + benefits
