Your new role
The Transport Operations Manager will be a fundamental part of the site management team, working closely with the Distribution Manager to fulfil all customer orders OTIF. You will be reporting into the site Distribution Manager with the aim of progressing into this more senior position. You will be directly responsible for a team of around 80 drivers and 6 management level staff, driving operational efficiency and team motivation. Finally, you will take accountability for the planning and delivery of operational transport activities through effective management of your Transport Team Managers, to ensure a high level of service is provided to the customer
What you'll need to succeed
Experience within a fast paced Transport environment role is essential to your success, you will have managed teams of 40+ drivers and ideally be CPC qualified, however this is not essential. You will be highly motivated and ambitious to progress within the organisation to senior management, with the ability to step in to cover senior roles when needed. Finally whilst this is a Monday to Friday role a degree of flexibility is needed due to the needs of a 24/7 site operation.
What you'll get in return
As the Transport Operations Manager you will receive a salary between £40,000 - £45,000 with up to a 13% bonus. A company car / car allowance will also be offered alongside a pension and benefits scheme. This is a role with a clear progression scheme and the opportunity to step up to Senior Management alongside developing your transport skill set.
