Warehouse Manager

My client are a Global freight forwarding business based in Birmingham. Due to several new business wins, they are looking for a Warehouse Manager with 3rd party logistics experience.

The operation is moving to a brand new purpose built distribution centre and so the Warehouse Manager will get involved in all elements of site relocation.

Description

The Warehouse Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Overall delivery of the daily operating plan for all customers across the site
  • Effective management and communication of operational change
  • Ensure the warehouse adheres to/surpasses agreed SLA and KPIs
  • To promote proactive people management responses to change issues and initiatives to enable the warehouse to fulfil its responsibility to staff
  • Coach and mentor team members and actively contribute to the identification of individual and depot training and development needs to meet organisational objective
  • To manage a cohesive and effective management team, achieving consistency between shifts
  • Involved in disciplinary and grievances when required with the support of Human Resources
  • Ensure systems and procedures are well equipped in order to deliver high performance
  • Ensure strong and visible leadership in all aspects of Health and Safety management
  • To advise on the people and system implications, issues and responses to further the group's strategies and objectives
  • Initial point of contact for customers at site level for operational communication

Profile

The successful candidate will have the following experience:

Knowledge:

  • 3PL contract logistics experience is essential
  • Multi-user experience is advantageous
  • People Management
  • P&L Ownership
  • Logistic KPI's (measured environment)
  • Relevant logistic best practise
  • Strong IT Skills including WMS, SAP and all Microsoft programmes
  • IOSH
  • At least 3 years' experience in a management capacity within warehousing

Specific Skills:

  • Strong negotiation, planning and scheduling skills
  • Able to develop strong working relationships with people at all levels
  • Strong organisation skills with the ability to manage and prioritise high volume workload
  • A commitment to providing outstanding customer service
  • Problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong experience of working within a team
